Beecher's Commitment
Beecher’s is a Western Pennsylvania coffee roaster that exclusively roasts 100% fair trade and organic coffees (FTO). When available all the coffees are grown in shaded conditions. We are further committed to both sustainability and social responsibility. A major portion of all sales go to support the Glade Run Foundation in Zelienople, Pennsylvania.

Definitions
Fair Trade – Fair trade coffees and teas provide the farmers a higher standard of living. The cooperative and the farmers that belong to them are guaranteed a minimum price for their product regardless of the world spot price.

Organic – Coffees and teas certified organic are produced absent any chemicals either through pesticides, fertilizers, or washing agents. Organic assures the health of the land, the farmer and the consumer.

Equal Exchange – In an equal exchange environment, 100% of the products are fair trade.

Shade Grown – Coffee that is shade grown protects migratory bird habitats and reduces clear cutting in tropical rain forests. This certification is not available in all countries. Where it is not available we want our importer to know the farmers and their methodology of growing coffee.

Sustainability – All actions that we take meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
